Sr. Electrical Engineer

ABB is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer, encompasses the design and analysis of parts, components, assemblies, subassemblies and systems, and the production of associated drawings and instructions. Under limited direction, perform a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of a specific engineering discipline plus an understanding of related disciplines to cost effectively achieve objectives. Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques. Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction. Tasks: Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: - Perform regular power transformer design per customer's specification by using ABB design tools. - Design and develop special transformer designs per customer's special requirements. - Develop transformer design and checking tools for Engineering and production. - Prepare documentation for other departments like mechanical department, purchasing, sales, manufacture, test, etc. - Order materials for the transformer production. - Prepare design review documents and participate in technical meetings with customers. - Follow-up on manufacturing of approved designs and customer service. - Train and support junior electrical engineers. - Plan, conduct, coordinate and develop recommendations using advanced engineering concepts and processes. - Negotiate matters of considerable significance with customers, which may impact current and future business, and assist them to optimize their operations by such means as improving their costs, quality, and processes. - Analyze new proposals, requirements, specifications, and products. Requirements: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in transformer design or research. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, word, power point, etc.), Auto-CAD. - In-depth knowledge of finite element analysis on high voltage stress, transformer field flux calculation, metal parts hot spot temperature rise, and transformer dielectric failure. - Special knowledge of multiple engineering fields to influence direction of engineering efforts, coordinate engineering projects. - Adapt to changing technology, present proposals, and conceive and foster introduction of new concepts and approaches. - Require ability to negotiate and influence decisions of Company managers and customers. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
